SUED BY FATHER-IN-LAW
PRE-WAR MILLIONAIRE WINS ALIMONY An interesting point of law has just been decided in the Budapest courts, Isidor Kernel', a pre-war millionaire, who has fallen on hard times, has sued his three sons-in-law for his upkeep. Mr. Kerner states that when his daughters married he handed over his business to the husband of his eldest daughter, and his two other sons-in-law based their fortunes on their wives’ dowries. Although they had assisted him moderately since he had lost his fortune he considered that he had a legal right to be adequately supported in the style to which he was accustomed. The judge pronounced himself In Mr. Kerner’s favour, and has asked the defendants to produce their taxpapers, so that the amount of alimony may be settled.
