WOOL PRICES HOLD

Recd. 10.40 a.m.. LONDON, Friday. At the wool sales 7,162 bales were offered, including 1,612 from New Zealand. About 2,130 were sold. There was a poor miscellaneous slecfion and cdnsequently considerable withdrawals, but prices were maintained. Now Zealand greasy crossored made llid and 10id. The sales closed with the highest series of Merinos, super spinners and combing style at 6S per cent, to 10 per cent, above April closing, scoureds 10 per cent, to 15 per cent. Crossbreds super style and greasies, thanks chiefly to American demands, advanced 10 per cent, to 15 per cent, topmaking descriptions 10 per cent., scoureds, 10 per cent., slipes and halfbreds, 5 per cent, to 7i per cent. Lambs, greasy Merinos, advanced 5 per cent to 7 h per cent., and crossbreds fully 10 per cent. The total catalogued 124,800 bales were sold—Home, 41,000, the Continent 69,000, United States 2,000. It is estimated 41,500 bales of Australian and 38,000 of New Zealand were sold.
