Obituary
MRS. I. SEED Mrs. Isabella Seed, who has died at Gisborne at the age of 77, was born in Sunderland, England, and came to New Zealand in 1858, settling in Canterbury. She was a keen worker in the interests of the Methodist Church. She is survived by three sons and three daughters. MR. W. A. SCANTLEBURY The death has occurred at Tauranga of Mi-. William Addison Scantlebury, at the age of 61. Mr. Scantlebury served in the South African War, and came to New Zealand in 1904, settling in Taranaki, but four years later lie moved to Tauranga. During the Great War he served with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force in Samoa. He leaves five sons and one daughter. MR. W. WILDERMOTH A son of one of the famous 600 who took part in the historic charge of the Light Brigade at Balaclava, Mr. William Wildermoth, an old Cambridge resident, has died at the age of 91 Born in Perthshire, Scotland Mr. Wildermoth came to New Zealand as a boy and joined the Railway Depart--1 ment, being one of the original locoI motive drivers in Otago. Later he i moved to New Plymouth and then to the Waikato, retiring about 15 years ago and going to Cambridge. CAPTAIN W. G. McCONACHY Captain William Gordon McConachy, master of the Canadian National steamer, Canadian Conqueror due in Auckland this morning, was taken ill while the vessel was at Timaru and he died in the hospital there on AArednesday morning. Born in Scotland 53 years ago, Cap- : tain McConachy joined the Federal i Line and visited New Zealand for a number of years. 1n^1919 he joined j the Canadian Government Line as master, and has brouight a number of j the company’s vessels to New Zealand. He is survived by his wife, who lives in Canada.
