FOR PILOTS AND PLANES SCHEME BEFORE AERO CLUB Press Association "WELLINGTON, Today. The details of insurance schemes for pilots and airplanes were placed before the committee of the Dominion Aero Club today. Insurance for the personnel of the clubs is proposed as follows: Pilots with R.A.F. experience: Death, £I,OOO ; permanent total disablement, two limbs or two eyes, £1,000; partial disablement, £500; temporary disablement, £ 6 a. week limited to 52 weeks. The minimum rate is 4» per cent., £45 per annum. In connection with plane insurance, Lloyd’s Company, it was stated, would insure planes if the following conditions were complied with: First, that a governing body be formed ifi New Zealand, Lloyd’s to negotiate with the parent body only; second, adequate repair facilities to be obtainable outside of Sockburn and Auckland; in the alternative, clubs to bear the expense and transportation to a recognised repair centre. The proposals are to be discussed at the Aero Clubs' Conference at Wellington next Saturday.
