FIRE AT WAIMATA From Our Otrn f WAIHI. Tuesday Fire destroyed a four-roomed cottage on the farm of Mr. Thomas .1 Hicks at Waimata. some miles from Waihi. at an early hour this morn The cottage, which was originally the farm residence, had been used a-< a storeroom since a larger home had been built. It was insured for £l5O iu the Royal Insurance Company. The cause of the fire is not known, but as the building is only a few yards off the main highway it is thought possible that somebody, thinking it was deserted, had sought shelter for the night and had been careless with matches or cigarettes.
