FIRE DESTROYS HOUSE
OCCUPANTS’ HURRIED ESCAPE A hurried escape was made by Mr. Clausen and his wife when fire broke out in a five-roomed bungalow in Woodlands Hoad, Glen Eden, at about three o’clock yesterday morning. The house quickly became a mass of flames, and in the absence of a firefighting apparatus nothing could be saved. All Mr. Clausen’s possessions except his motor-car were destroyed. The outbreak was the second to occur in Glen Eden within a few hours. Shortly before ten o’clock on Monday evening the home of Mr. Alp, in West Coast Road, was destroyed by fire, the occupants narrowly escaping from the flames.
