RUSHING TO DOCTOR
SPEEDY MOTORIST FINED “Fifty miles an hour is a very excessive speed on this road.’’ said Mr. I’. H. Levien. S.M.. at the Papakura Police Court, yesterday, in fining J. W. Taylor for travelling at that speed on the Great South Road at Takanini. Taylor gave evidence that a woman passenger in the car had been taken ill and was being rushed to the doctor. She was operated on two days later. The magistrate held that the speed was not justified, as the woman did not undergo the operation until 4S hours after. Defendant was fined £2 and costs. 10s.
