HOUSEHOLDERS PROTEST
ELECTION OF SCHOOL COMMITTEES NEW VOTES AUTHORISED Protests concerning the annual meetings of householders for the election of committees at three schools were received by the Auckland Education Board yesterday. Owing to alleged irregularities a new election was authorised in each case. At the Te Aroha West election it was alleged by a number of householders that certain voting papers were wrongly declared informal and that voting papers were immediately destroyed and no information was given to householders of the votes cast for each candidate. Also, that a fair hearing was not given to complaints at the meeting.
There was an allegation that an unauthorised person had voted in the election of the Surfdale committee and in the case of the Kourawhero election, that an ineligible person was elected to the committee.

Haddock; Manga - tarata, Mr. T. S. Harris; Mangatu, Messrs. C. Jones and H. D. Turner; Moumoukai, Mr. R. B. Milne; Ngaroma. Mr. W. J. E. Ashby: Okaihau, Mr. T. P. Dixon; Oropi, Mr. W. F. Dunn; Parore. Mr. F. Johanson; Piako Road, Mr. J. W. Humphrey; Ruakaka, Mr. F. Serjeant: Toatoa, Mr. F. B. Starkey; Tryphena, Mr. G. A. Blackwell; Tutamoe, Messrs. E. and N. Heath; Whangamarino. Mr. R. D. Rodda.
