LOSS ON ATHLETES’ TOUR
CANTERBURY SHOWS DEFICIT Press Association WELLINGTON, Wednesday. A statement of receipts and expenditure of the Lermond-Golding tour was received from the Canterbury Amateur Athletic Association at a meeting of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association this evening. The two meetings held in Christchurch showed a loss of £lOl. In asking the council to make good the loss, the secretary said that it would be remembered that the Canterbury Centre took the early meetings when the athletes were more or less unknown in New Zealand and when they were not in the best of form. It was considered that a good deal of the later success of the tour was a result of the careful manner in which the Canterbury centre nursed the visitors.
It was decided to request tlie Wellington centre to forfeit £CO of their profit of £IS4 which, combined with half of the New Zealand Council’s share, £36, would compensate Canterbury for its loss.

2 m 18 l-ss: Aliss Thelma Hench, 100yds, 11 3-ss; Wellington centre relay team, 1 mile (880, 440, 220 and 220yds), 3m 35 2-ss.
