WOMEN’S FOURSOMES RESULTS OF TWO ROUNDS Press Association PALMERSTON N.. Wednesday. The Hokowhitu links today were the venue of the first open autumn foursomes to be conducted by the Ladies’ Golf Union in the Dominion. The entries number 74. Mrs. Guy Williams, of Masterton. president of the Ladies’ Golf Union, is the donor of two handsome silver cups as trophies, replicas of which, to be presented to the winners, have been presented by Miss E. Culling. of Auckland. The principle of the competition is to encourage team spirit. Today’s results are as follow: First Round.—Miss 13. Culling (Auckland) and Miss D. Chrystall (Christchurch) beat Mrs. Thompson (Marumaru) and partner, 7 and 5; Mrs. J. P. Innes and Miss N. Innes (Manawatu) beat Miss E. Smith and Miss S. Baldwin (Masterton;, 'J nnd. 5; Miss S. Watson (Manawatu) and Miss 33. Bell (Wellington) beat Mrs. D. Bergii and Miss Petrie (Bulls), 8 and 7. There were many byes in the first round. Second Round.—Mrs. and Miss Innes beat Misses Culling and Chrystall, 5 and 3; Misses Watson and Bell beat Mesdames F. Coomes and A. T. Bendall (Manawatu), 6 and, 4: Miss Black (Miramar) and Mrs. A. Seifert (Manawatu) beat Mesdames Bevan and J. A Harris (Marton), 1 up at 20th; Mesdames Hunter and C. G. Wilson (Levin) beat Mesdames J. Miller and B. Jacobs (Manawatu), 2 up; Mrs. IT.
