WATERFRONT VISIT
Governor-General Sees Produce Loaded DESCENDS TO SHIP’S HOLD This morning his Excellency the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, visited the waterfront and watched New Zealand produce being loaded for London. Down in the hold of the Tasmania ho watched boxes and bales of Dominion goods being packed for their long journey to England. Lord Bledisloe also made a tour of the waterfront. Since his arrival in Auckland the Governor-General has spent several busy days, seeing as much of the city as possible. He is desirous of seeing as much industrial and agricultural activity as possible, and prefers to obtain his information first-hand.
His Excellency was accompanied on his tour this morning by Lieutenant Elworthy, A.D.C., Mr. M. H. Wynyard, chairman of the Harbour Board; Mr. G. R. Hutchinson; Mr. H. B. Burnett, superintendent and secretary; and Mr. W. R. Golden, traffic manager.
