KITCHEN EVENING
BRIDE-ELECT IS GUEST OF HONOUR Mesdames Terrill and Searby were hostesses at a very enjoyable social evening, given in honour of tlieir neice, Miss Elaine Jackson, at Avenue Road West, Otahuhu, on Saturday' evening. The function took the form of a kitchen gift evening, and the bride-to-be was the recipient of many varied and useful gifts from her large circle of friends. Cards, games and dancing were enjoyed, music was provided by Misses Terrill and Bentley and Messrs. Heald and Giles. Airs*. Terrill received the guests in a frock of old rose crepe de chine, trimmed, .with old gold lace. Airs. Searby was frocked in sapphire j.Hno georgette, with, insets of cream Miss E. Jackson was wearing a dainty frock of blue, taffeta. Among those present were: Mrs. A. Davies, Wellsford, who wore sea foam crepe de chine; Mrs. G. Searby, cornflower blue georgette; Mrs. 11. JackJem, carmine eharmeline; Mrs. G. Simons, lawn satin; Airs. J. AVilson, sedge green satin: Mrs. AV. Scott, orchid pink crepe de clime; Airs. E. AVhale, dove grey wool crepe de chine; Mrs. F. -EUing, mauve georgette, with silver trimmings; Mrs. .7. I eterson. paon bine embossed georgette; Mrs. E. Hillyard, patterned rayon; Mrs. C. Castle, art blue chenille georgette; Miss M. Terrill, ashes of roses pink crepe de chine; Miss M. Bentley, lichen green crepe do chine; Miss V. Simons, ivory georgette. Miss N. Simons was in pillar box red georgette, with silver tonings; Miss V. Hards, electric blue crepe de chine; Miss I. Ball, carmine taffeta; Miss A. AVhale, sapphire crepe, de chine; Miss I. Whale, sapphire njnon, with reliefs of lemon; Miss H. Kevey, sunset crepe de chine; Miss ,7. Peterson, patterned rayon; Miss M. Searby, apricot crepe de chine.
