GLEN EDEN TOWN BOARD
The Glen Eden Town Board held its usual fortnightly meeting last evening. Mr. W. Martin presiding. A letter was reecived from the Auckland Motor-bus Company, submitting a new time-table. A member suggested a reduction in fares to Karangahape Hoad, but upon the chairman’s motion it was decided to give the new time-table a trial. The Minister of Railways intimated that a danger signal could not be erected just yet at the Eden View and West Coast Roads crossing. The chairman was empowered to represent the board at the regional townplanning conference. A letter was received from the New Lynn Borough Council, in regard to a conference respecting the construction of the new Whau Bridge. Cr. Shepherd was appointed to represent the board at the conference. The Valley Road Bridge was stated to be in a bad state, and a danger to vehicles, and it was decided to replace the railing and to put four planks along the bridge.
