ELLERSLIE’S POOR START
GOOD ALBION BOWLING Ellerslie-s opening against Albion on Saturday did not give promise of any brilliant cricket. On a greasv wieket, with a slow outtield, Hetherington and Yates were first at the crease. The former reached seven when E. Stallworthy tempted him to lift one to Viscoe. His partner had reached a similar total when R. Stallworthy moved his bails with a tricky one. Hollis, who was third man in, did somewhat better than the opening men. He hit up 34, and then stepped in front of a hot delivery from E. Stallworthy. As far as could be judged on Saturday, the Stall worthy brothers seemed to be on the road to a rich harvest at the expense of the Ellerslie barmen. When play was abandoned for the day at 3.40, Ellerslie had lost three wickets fo.r a total of 33. Details: ELLERSLIE. First Innings. HETHERINGTON, c Viscoe, b. E Stallworthy 9 YATES, b R.
