ATTENDANTS IN SHADES OF PINK
DAVIS—BATES The marriage -was celebrated at the Aletliodist Church, Fapakura, on Wednesday last, of Hilda Alona Bates, fourth daughter of Air. and Airs. J. H. Bates, of Papakura, to Eric Lawrence Davis, youngest son of Air. and Airs. U- AV. Davis, of Alarne Road, Papakura. The Rev. W. J. Llliutt was the officiating clergyman. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, wearing a frock of ivory georgette trimmed with lace and pink rosebuds, and a flared overskirt caught at one side with a diamento buckle. Her veil was held in place by a headdress of orange blossoms. and she carried a shower bouquet of white flowers. The bridesmaid. Alias Sylvia Bates, sister of the bride, wore a pink rayon frock embroidered 'in silver, with a silver belt and hat to tone. She carried a bouquet of pink flowers. Aliss Doris Cross, niece of the bride, and Aliss Edna Blank, niece of the bridegroom, as flower girls, were wearing frilled frocks of pink crepe de chine, ‘trimmed with lace, with pink and mauve posies. They wore headbands in toning shades of ribbon and flowers and carried baskets of sweet peas and maidenhair fern. Air. George Blank attended the bridegroom as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence oC the bride’s parents. Airs. J. Bates, mother of the bride, received the guests in a frock of figured rayon and hat to tone. Airs. Davis, mother of the bridegroom, wore black crepe de chine trimmed with black and gold lace, with mole and pink hat.
