Diocesan Old Girls’ Reunion

FOUNDERS’ DAY SERVICE CELEBRATION DINNER

There has been a large influx of old girls of the Diocesan School to Auckland this week in order to take part in the annual reunion, by means of which all those who retain an affection for their old school give evidence of their continued interest in its welfare. The proceedings opened with a morning servies in the school chapel, conducted by Archbishop Averin. Founders’ Day service was held in the school hall in the afternoon, M.r. H. J. D. Mahon, headmaster of the Boys’ Gramar School, being the speaker. The rest of the afternoon was devoted to cricket and tennis, afternoon tea being served in the interval. The various events of the day culminated in a celebration dinner held in Miss Mabel Johnson’s ballroom in Dromorne Road. A conference relating to the various activities of the old girls concluded an interesting evening. Today’s events included a “scattered members’ held this morning in tllfc Tudor Tea Rooms. The evening will be devoted to a fellowship meeting, in the .course of which Miss Pulling will give an address in the old library at Bishopscourt. Other gatherings have also been arranged for tomorrow, when the reunion will conclude.
