CHRISTIAN CONVENTION

YESTERDAY’S ADDRESSES

Further addresses were given yesterday at the second day’s meetings of the ; Auckland Christian Convention, which j were held in the Scots Hall. The first speaker at the morning ses- ; sion was Mr. George Reanney, who spoke on the “Certainties of the Christian Faith,” and urged fidelity to the fundamental truths revealed in the Word of God. The next speaker was Mr. Forbes McLeod, whose message was a challenge to the back-siider and a call to restoration for those who had grown cold. Mr. T. Russell Cameron spoke on “Faith.” In the afternoon Mr. W. It. Wilson took as his subject. The Church of God viewed as the Body of Christ, the Temple of God. and The House of God.” He said the Scripture presented the subject in two aspects, first from the Hivine viewpoint in the Epistle to the Ephesians, and then from the human side, in the Epistle to the Corinthians. As a body, the Church displayed the glory of the Head, which was Christ glorified. As a temple it was the inner shrine where God’s glory was displayed and wherein believers worshipped. The House presented the rule of God over which Christ was the Son. Mr. Robert Eaidlaw followed with a call to service to the individual members of the Church of God. and the third speaker at the afternoon session was Mr. A. McHonald Redwood, of India, liis subject was “The Will of God.” The closing addresses were given in the evening, Mr. Eaidlaw speaking on j the subject of “Love to Christ,” and j Mr. M. Tolland on “Christian Joy." ~=
