CROQUET
AVONDALE CLUB There was a good attendance at the official opening of the Avondale Croquet Club on Saturday. The greens were in first-class order. Mrs. J. E. Ellis, the president, briefly declared the season open. Play was quickly commenced, and a large number of visiting players was entertained. HENDERSON CLUB The opening of the Henderson Croquet Club’s season was performed by the vice-president, Mrs. B. Carter, on Saturday afternoon. Progressive croquet was played, the winners being Mrs. J. Franklin, of Papatoetoe, and Mi&s 11. M. Bowmar, of Mount Albert.
