Labour's Outing at the Domain
SPORTS AFTERNOON M.P’S IN ATTENDANCE An important feature of Labour Day celebrations today was the annual sports meeting, organised by the Trades Hall trustees, at the Domain. The flat and cycling races, which were conducted by officials of the Auckland Amateur Athletic Centre, attracted strong fields. Public attention during the morning was focussed principally upon the national dancing, in which there were 102 competitors in the 18 events. The Domain presented an animated scene during th© afternoon, a crowd numbering several thousands watching the sports and races and novelty events arranged for the children. Interested spectators at the sports were Mr. IT. E. Holland, M.P., Leader , of th© Labour Party, and Labour members of th© Auckland electorates— Messrs. W. J.. .Jordan. H. G. R. Mason, W. E.
