SUGGESTION FROM AUCKLAND Auckland is the only Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand which publishes its own monthly journal and it was suggested this morning by Mr. 11. T. Merritt that this journal be made the official organ of the Associated Chambers of Commerce for the Dominion. The report of the executive drew attention to the suggestion that the ■New Zealand Shipping Gazette” should be» adopted as the official journal of the association, the name being altered to the “New Zealand Shipping and Commercial Gazette." ' Mr. Merritt said that an official journal was highly desirable. He pointed out that the Auckland Chamber published the only journal of its kind in the Dominion and the members were very proud of it. He suggested that a committee be set up to consider the suggestion to make the Auckland journal the official journal of the association in New Zealand. The committee will meet today and give its finding at the conference tomorrow.
