Dancing Contest At Click Clack

UNIQUE COMPETITION The Click Clack Cabaret presented a gav appearance on Saturday evening, some beautiful frocks being observed among the dancers, who attended m large numbers. Bright music was supplied by the orchestra, which played, with other new numbers. "Misery Farm.” the band marching through the ballroom dressed as farm yokels, to the accompaniment of accordion music. This novelty caused much amusement. Aliss Alargarot and Miss Kathleen O’Connor wore the hostesses. The big attraction of the evening was the finals of Aliss Margaret O’Connor’s dancing competition, this being the first exhibition of its kind in Auckland. The first prize, a gold medal and three guineas, was won by Mr Frank Hasson and Aliss Joan Alorris: the second, a silver medal and two guineas, by Mr. Frank Skeet and Aliss Alollv Ballantyne. Finalists were: Air. Rov Brodie and Aliss Doreen AIoKav. Mr. Peter Tunks and Aliss Adele do Alarr. As judge of the competitions, Madame Baird remarked that the standard of dancing had improved so greatly during the last IS months that it was very difficult to judge, the competition being so close. A demonstration of thanks was given by Aliss Margaret O’Connor’s pupils to herself and Aliss Kathleen O'Connor. AMONG THOSE PRESENT Afiss Alargaret O'Connor had on a french model gown in tonings of Mack and grev. exquisitely beaded in silver. Miss Kathleen O’Connor wore a frock of iris blue georgette with uneven hem of chiffon velvet and diamente buckle. Madame Baird bad chosen black with frilled tulle skirt and velvet coatee bodice with spray of lacquer red velvet leaves. Aliss Joan Alorris was in a charming frock of nil green georgette with uneven lC Miss fc Mollv Ballantyne had on a blush pink georgette frock, ankle length, with 1 Miss Doreen AlcKay’s frock had a bodice of silver tissue, and white and green ankle-length skirt. Miss Adele de Atari' was frocked in blue and silver, the bodice studded with rhinestones and ankle length skirt. Mrs. Alorris wore a frock of black and Sll Nß's*.
