BIRKENHEAD CARNIVAL
TWO QUEENS SELECTED The Birkenhead Queen Carnival Committee, which is arranging to raise funds to provide a fire brigade for Birkenhead, held its first meeting last evening. Mr. J. Batty was elected chairman, Mr. F. Blackwell secretary, Mr. J. W. Cocks treasurer and Mr. B. McPhail organiser. Miss G. Utting was nominated as the Business Queen, and Miss L. McPhail as the Friendly Societies’ Queen. The Birkdale Queen and the Labour Party’s representative have not been selected yet.
