BRIDE IN PERIOD FROCK

INTERESTING CITY WEDDING The wedding took place at the Unitarian Church, Ponsonby Road, of Gwenyth, youngest daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. G. Leech, of Paice Avenue, Dominion Road, to Ormond, third son of Mr. and Mrs. Cordes, of Mount Eden. The bride, who was given away by her brother-in-law, Air. F. Aloore, looked very dainty in a frock of white georgette with long sleeves and long vandyked skirt, a posy of silver roses being attached to each point. A large spray of silver roses was worn on the shoulder. A long veil of embroidered tulle fastened on each side of the head with sprays of orange blossom completed a most charming toilette with a shower bouquet of white carnations and maidenhair fern. Miss Doreen Brighton, cousin of the bride, acted as bridespiaid. Her frock was of lagoon blue crepe de chine made with a tight-fitting bodice and full-gathered skirt, and silver shoulder posy. With this was worn a frilled headdress of tulle and silver tissue. Her bouquet was of pink carnations and maidenhair fern. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. Cordes, brother of the bridegroom. After the ceremony a reception was held at Nairn’s tearooms. Karangahape Road, where more than 70 guests assembled. A feature of the decorations was the daffodils sent as a gift to the bride by her former employer. Air. J. C. Whitney, of the Colonial Ammunition Company.
