TWO MEMBERS EXCLUDED FROM BRUCE PARTY OPPOSED GOVERNMENT Reed. 9.35 am. CANBERRA, Thurs. The Prime Minister, Mr. Stanley Bruce, announced the practical exclusion from the Nationalist Party of Mr. W. M. Hughes and Mr. Mann, both of whom opposed the Government in the censure motion moved by Mr. E. G. Theodore (Labour). In future, Mr. Hughes and Mr. Mann will not he permitted to attend meetings of the Nationalist Party. The censure motion, which was defeated by four votes after an all-night sitting of the House of Representatives, concerned the withdrawal of a prosecution against Mr. John Brown, colliery proprietor. Messrs. Hughes and Mann (Nationalists) and Mr. P. G. Stewart (Independent) paired against the Government.
