MR. JAMES HODGSON
Mr. James Hodgson, a well-known Auckland business man, died on Wednesday at his home in Shelly Beach Road, Ponsonbv, at the age of 74. Born in Leeds. England, he came to New Zealand in 1879 and settled in Auckland. He had exoerience of wool
manufacturing in Yorkshire and in 1887 founded the firm of Hodgson and Sons, Limited. Mr. Hodgson, who realised the importance of New Zealand wool, was among the pioneers in fostering the industry, which has now grown to such large proportions. He is survived by his wife and two sons. MR. F. M. CAMERON A member of a well-known Otago family', Mr. James Muir Cameron died in Auckland yesterday at the age of 76. Born in Scotland, he came to New Zealand with his parents in 1863 and settled at Port Chalmers. He later succeeded to the bakery and grocerybusiness established by his father in that town. He retired from commercial life 25 years ago and after living for somo time in Manor Place, Dunedin, settled in Auckland. Mr. Cameron is survived by his wife, two sons and four daughters. MR. EBENEZER MORRIS Mr. Ebenezer Morris, an old Auckland resident, died on Wednesday at Mount Albert at the age of 81. Born in Scotland, he came to New' Zealand when he was 27. and entered the building business. He and his partner, Mr. McLeod, worked on several of the wellknown buildings of that time, including St. Paul’s Church. Symonds Street. Mr. Morris was also in business at Thames and Matakoho. He is survived by his widow. MRS. E. S. WALTON
Tlie death occurred suddenly at Tokatoka yesterday of Mrs. Ellen Susanah Walton. Mrs. Walton, who was 65 years of age, was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Frost, of Arch Hill. Auckland. She was married at Auckland to Mr. H. P. Walton by Archdeacon Dudley thirty-six years ago. Mrs. Walton and her husband were pioneers of the district, and made their farm one of the best in the district. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son. Air. Thomas E. Walton. Tokatoka, and three daughter*. Mesdames G. Jreson (Parnell). L. Ring rose (Tokatoka) and N. r**art vOkaihau).
