North Shore Enjoys OldTime Dancing 1 BACK THROUGH THE YEARS The North Devonport Ratepayers’ and Residents’ Association believes that all the pleasures in this world should not be reserved for the younger generation; so on Saturday evening it held an oldtime dance with a real old-time orchestra. The function was a thorough success, and the Foresters’ Hall was well filled. music was supplied by Bartley’s Orchestra, an old favourite, and waltz, lancers, la rinka, valeta, schottische, etc., were danced with all the grace and vigour that used to characterise the S nces of a decade ago. Comprising the committee were Mesdames Morgan, Ewington, Trenwith, Parry, Misses Morgan, J. Stevens, S. Stevens, and Messrs. Knowles. Clark and P. N. King. Among the dancers were: Mrs. Budgeon, in a henna georgette and gold lace frock; Mrs. R. Kessell, dusk blue crepe de chine; Mrs. Marshall, wearing sunset taffeta; Mrs. Sampson, who wore capucine georgette and gold lame; Mrs. McKenzie, in cherry ci'epe de chine; Mi's. Bartley, in a black satin gown; Mrs. Clai'ke, wearing floral chiffon; Mrs. Ci'app, in black satin; Mrs. Smith, who wore a flowered crepe de chine frock; Mrs. Walter Williams, wearing lace over crepe de soie; Mrs. Harding, in navy satin crepe de chine: Mrs. Harry Harper, who wore ravenswing crepe de cliine; Mrs. Hunt, in wine taffeta with diamente trimmings; Mrs. Blenkarne, wearing black georgette. Mrs. Ford, in black satin and tulle; Mis. W. Marks, in floral crepe de chine; Mrs. Parry, in black lace; Miss Stayte, who wore diabolo reel crepe de chine; Miss Bogue, in pastel pink crepe de cliine; Miss Nelson, who had on rose crepe de chine; Miss E. Stevens, in jade green velvet and silver; Miss Robertson, who chose mauve taffeta; Miss Gordon, wearing pimpernel georgette; Miss S. Stephens, wearing beige embossed geoi'gette; Miss M. Morgan, in rose pink taffeta. Miss Sceats, who wore embi-oidei'ed cream crepe de chine; Miss M. Buckley, in flame crepe de chine; Miss G. Smith, who wore powder blue geoi'gette; Miss J. Stephens, who chose wedgwood blue georgette; Miss M. Skeates, in lemon crepe de chine; Miss Blakely, who was in burnt orange and green lace; Miss A. McFeteridge, in daffodil georgette: Miss C. King, who chose amethyst crepe de chine; Miss M. McFeteridge, wearing primrose geoi'gette; Miss O. King, who wore lotus pink crepe de chine; Miss E. McKenzie, in a hyacinth georgette frock; Miss It. McLean, who wore forest green and gold lace.
