LEADERS LEVEL FOR LEAGUE PREMIERSHIP

The positions of the teams in the senior League club competition are as follow:

Ellerslie missed the services of its usual fullback, Dufty, and the showings of Topman and Crewther, who filled the position at different stages, were weak. Hemingway, who was the only man working in the backs, came off the field with honours. His defence was very solid. Burke, a new player from Paeroa, gave a disappointing exhibition, while Olliff, the diminutive half, was not seen in his best form. Tho 4>ack did some fine concerted work in dribbling rushes, with Hobbs, Chapman and Dance the pick. SENIOR B GRADE OTAHUHU DEFEAT MANGERE Playing in the third round of the Stafford Cup competition, at Victoria Park on Saturday, the Otahuhu senior B grade thirteen defeated Mangere by 12 to 8. The ground was very sloppy. Shortly after the start of the match. Philp kicked a field goal for Otahuhu, and soon afterward Eustace repeated tho performance. There was no further scoring during the first half, although both sides launched some very determined offensives. Plaj was, on tho whole, very even, with Otahuhu showing a slight advantage. The pace did not slacken in the second spel:, Eustace scored and converted his try, and Farrell scored for Otahuhu. L. Wilson scored for Mangere and Paul converted. For Otahuhu, Eustace, Philp and Farrell gave outstanding displays.
