HOUSE DAMAGED BY FIRE
OUTBREAK AT REMUERA The entrance-porch and staircase of a two-storeyed, seven-roomed house at 21 Benson Road, Remuera, were badly damaged by fire at about 4.20 p.m. yesterday. The house was owned by Mr. E. Morton, of Bell Road, and was occupied by Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Vldert. The fire was not discovered until it had gained a firm hold but the Remuera Brigade turned out promptly and made a good save, so that the rest of the house was only slightly damaged. The building was insured in the South British Company for £I,OOO.
