FIREMEN GASSED
DENTIST’S OUTFIT ) BURNED Press Association , ELTHAM, Today. Firemen were gassed when a gas cylinder exploded in a fire which broke out at four o’clock this morning, destroying a six-roomed house in Mountain Road, Eltham. They later recovered. The house was occupied by Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Powell, who were awakened by smoke and found the building ablaze. Part of the furniture was removed yesterday in view of Mr. Powell's departure from Eltham. The balance, including a dentist’s outfit, was destroyed. The fire brigade did good work, but the building was gutted. Insurances on the house are not available, but there was a policy on the furniture for £3OO. and on the dental equipment for £9OO, both in the South British Company. Personal belongings were insured for £2OO in the Alliance Office.
