Law Students Hold Gay Annual Function EFFECTIVE DECORATIONS Law had a merry respite from fees and folios last evening, when the 12th annual ball of the Auckland University Law Students’ Society was held at Scots HalL Restful palms and greenery were twinkling with vari-coloured electric bulbs in the entrance hall and ballroom, deft fingers having conceived a specially elaborate and artistic scheme of decoration. The dais was an in- i viting retreat for chaperones and nondancers, and hanging baskets of ferns gave an effective note to the scene. Beautiful frocks with their picturelength touch were thrown into relief by shaded lights, and the enlivening music by Walter Smith’s’ Orchestra incited the dancers to trip it merrily. Stone was in amethyst taffeta. Miss Thelma Cox looked very charming in her ivory georgette frock. Miss E. Hatswell wore silver lame and taffeta of ankle length. Miss B.
