BOHEMIAN ORCHESTRA

TOWN HALL NEXT THURSDAY The second concert of the 1929 season of the Bohemian Orchestra will be given in the Toxvn Hall on Thursday next. Among the musical items are the following selections by the orchestra:—“Midsummer Night’s Dream,” “Le Carnaval des Animaux,” “Land of the Morning and the Flood,” “Suite of Serenades,” and “Finlandia.” Mr. Cyril Towsey will play one of Rubenstein’s pieces with full orchestral accompaniment, and Miss M. Clague will sing “Sequidille” (from “Carmen”), and “Quand tu Chantes.” Mr. Colin Muston, L.R.A.M., is the conductor, and Miss Edith Whitelaw, L.R.A.M., the leader of the orchestra. Details of; membership for the remainder of the season are advertised. MUNICIPAL BAND AT ZOO Several new numbers, fresh from the London publishers, are included in the programme to be given by the Municipal Band in the Zoological Park tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon) at 2.45. New items are novelty. “Sarita”; cornet solos, “Leanin’ ” and “Poor Man’s Garden” (soloist, Mr. Bowes); euphonium solo (soloist Mr. Purchase); a nautical narrative, a grand selection from Verdi’s “Aida,” and a nautical fantasia “Britannia.” the overture “Pique Dame,” together with bright marches, will make up a programme of novelty and merit.
