Qn Wednesday afternoon a most *uccc»6ful bridge drive was organised and given by Mrs. < F. Reeves. Mrs. fj. C. Hammond, and Mrs. R. Wilson, to rals® funds for the Rev. Jasper Raider's mission. It was held at the imm® of Mr. and Mrs. Reeves, of Masefield Avenue, Herne Bay. Some 80 or 90 neopie were present, and a very peasant afternoon was spent. In the evening an enjoyable and .ucceesful charif dam e was held. The •nacious rooms opening on to a large *un porch lent themselves admirably m dancing, and the guests, numbering about 70. danced and played games. IN FAREWELL SOCIAL EVENING A farewell evening was given by the residents of Tatuanui to Mr. and Mrs. ft L. Abbott, who are leaving - the district, after a residence of eight years. During the evening Mr. F. Shirley, on behalf of the residents, presented Mr. and Mrs. Abbott with a cabinet of cutlery suitably engraved. Musical and total items were given by Mrs. Northcott, Messrs. J. Stewart and Abbott, and the rest of the evening was devoted to dancing and games. Mr. and Mrs. Abbott are taking up their residence in the Bay of Plenty. MR. AND MRS. ALEX. DONALD A valedictory social was tendered to Mr. anti Mrs. Alex Donald and family, nt Pukekohe Hill, last evening, by members of the Church of Christ and the Pukekohe Hill Lawn Tennis Club, in view of their departure for Drury. The chairman. Mr. E. W. Pook. Mr. • J- A. Moore and Mr. J. B. Sim referred to the interest taken by the family in social and church activities, <*nd the valuable support they had accorded to the tennis leub. Presentations were made to Mr. fonald. Mrs. Donald. Miss Nina Donald, Masters Lai and Willie Donald. A pleasant programme of musical, 'ocal and elocutionary items was contributed by the children. Sunday school schoiara. Misses T. and R. Civil, T. 'athercole. H. Sim. J. Pook, Mesdames J Evans. E. AY. Pook. Messrs. W. C. t aid well and Pook.
