TE KUITI BOROUGH COUNCIL
The Te ITuiti Borough Council received advice at its last meeting from the Waikato Hospital Board that the council's contribution this year will be £489 19s lOd, payable in four instalments. The Mayor, Mr. W. J. Broadfoot, M.P., said that borough and county officials should make inquiries into the possibilities of the new road-making method of spraying liquid cement into the gravel, similar to spraying tar on cement- This, in his opinion, should prove an excellent method and suitable to the needs of the borough. The parking of motor-cars in the main street was a matter on which there was considerable discussion. Councillors contended that the council would have to -intervene and make it compulsory for motorsts to park thencars on the side of the street next the green. At present it was sometimes impossible for carriers to back into the pavement owing to the number of private cars blocking the street. A report is to be prepared by the Works Committe r ‘.
