MAORI CHIEF DIES

At the age oC 80 years a well-known Maori chief, Rangiriri, died at Oiirnemutu today. . , - He was of high rank and belonged to a branch of the Sgatiwhaikaue tribe. In his young days lie din a good deal of lighting with the Arawas. He also fought against Te Kooti. Banßiriri leaves a widow and one daughter. A big tansi is being held at Ohmemutu. -
