MOTORIST’S LUCKY ESCAPE SMALL GIRL INJURED (Prom Our Otcn Correspondent) DARGAVILLE, Thursday. Owing to a mishap to the shockabsorber of his car, the Rev. Father Westeinde, who was accompanied by a small child, Evelyn Geaney, was nearly thrown into the Kaihq Creek last evening. A wash-out had occurred on the creek bank, and the car dropped partly into the breach thus created. Father Westeinde escaped injury, but the little girl received facial abrasions and suffered slightly from shock. The car received minor damage to the mudguards only, and was extricated from its hazardous position by several who witnessed the mishap.
