SOUTH AFRICAN PARTY SCORES EARLY THREE SEATS FROM LABOUR (United P.A. —By Telegraph Copyright) Reed. 9.46 a.m. CAPETOWN, Wed. Polling was tinexpectedly heavy throughout the country. The early urban results largely increased the South African Party majorities. Mr. Duncan was re-elected ror Yeoville. A young advocate, Mr. Lawrence, captured the Salt River and Cape Railway Works constituency from Labour. Colonel F. H. P. Creswell, Leader of the Labour Party, was returned. The Hon. T. Boydell, Minister of Labour, was defeated. At midnight the South African Parties had secured 25 seats, the Nationalists two, and Labour three, including one Creswellite. Labour has lost three seats to the South African Party, notably Turffontein, where Mr. Sturrock, a prominent industrialist, was returned; and the South African Party regained Langlaagte, where Mr. Christie, chairman of the Labour Council, was defeated.
