AIRMAN’S AMAZING LEAP FOR LIFE JUMP FROM 2,000 FEET (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Wednesday. Flying-Officer Turner was in flight near Folkestone at a height of 2,000 feet when he made an amazing dive for safety from his blazing airplane. The airman had just left the airdrome when a rush of wind fanned the whole machine into a ball of fire. Turner, who was the sole occupant, adjusted his parachute, jumped, and landed with only a broken arm. The machine nose-dived, and was completely wrecked.
