DEATH OF CAPTAIN HARVEY Press Association WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Captain E. J. Harvey, for over 50 years one of the best known master mariners in the New Zealand coastal trade, died on Monday at his home in Wellington. He commanded the paddle-steamer Manawatu in the ’7o’s, and other vessels in his charge included the Queen of the South (ISS9-1919) and the Kennedy (later in 1919). He gave up his seafaring life at the end of that year.
