AIRPORT FOR AUCKLAND
NORTHCOTE’S ENTHUSIASTIC SUPPORT VITAL IMPORTANCE TO CITY The establishment of an air port for the City of Auckland on the lines suggested by Mr. G. R. Hutchinson, of the Auckland City Council, was strongly supported by the Northcote Borough Council last evening. fTHE subject was introduced by Cr. H. C. George, who moved that the Northcote Borough Council views with satisfaction the proposal for an airport for Auckland, and records its hearty appreciation of the efforts being put forward toward its establishment, and wishes the movement every success.” The Mayor, Mr. A. E. Greenslade, thanked the mover for bringing the motion before tile council, and said he was of the opinion that the establishment of an airport was of vital importance to a progressive city like Auckland.
The proposal was warmly supported by other members of the council and adopted unanimously.
