“PAT HANNA’S DIGGERS” Clever turns featuring catchy song numbers, hilarious wit and a dainty ballet, is the key to the success of Pat Hanna’s “Diggers,” who attracted another good house at the St. James Theatre last evening. In this third programme produced by the “Diggers” Joe Valli, Pat Hanna, Ina Crossley and Stan Lawson are responsible for most of the comedy work, and among their brightest efforts are “Changed Glasses,” “Gipsy Love” and an extremely fanciful but none the less hilarious playette of j post-war days, “Joe’s Girl.” In the arrangement of the sketches j comedy is cleverly interwoven with vocal numbers. An attractive ballet trips on and off in a bewildering number of attractive costumes and pleasing numbers. Ernest Kopke and Adele Taylor are the leading vocalists, and the “Diggers’ ” orchestra ably supports is fellow artists.
