MOTOR-CYCLIST KILLED A fatal accident marred the Junior Tourist Trophy motor-cycle race in the Isle of Man. An international crack rider, C. T. Ashby, on a New Imperial machine, crashed when he was travelling at a speed of 80 miles an hour. He was taken to hospital, where he died.—A. and N.Z.P.A. FLIGHT TO ENGLAND —The reconditioning of the Southern Cross has been almost completed. A test of the monoplane is likely to be made on Thursday. Squadron-Deader Kingsford Smith and Flight-Lieutenant Ulm have not yet fixed the date of their departure for England, but the route to be taken will be that originally planned by them.
