FARM RELIEF SCHEME
BILL PASSES AMERICAN LOWER HOUSE CHEAP LOANS WILL RESULT (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 9.25 a.m. WASHINGTON, Sun. The Farm Relief Bill passed the House of Representatives, and this legislation—an extraordinary attempt to achieve prosperity in the farming industry by Government assistanceprobably will become law within a few weeks. A board of eight members will aim at producer control. One of its large objects is to promote education in cooperative marketing.
This injunction is designed to give the stamp of Government approval to the co-operative effort. A revolving fund of £100,000.000 has been authorised for loans and advances to farming organisations at low interest rates.
