MR. JAMES BREMNER The death of Mr. James Bremner occurred in Hamilton yesterday at the age of 50 years. Mr. Bremner, who had practised as an optician in the town for the past 12 years, was apprenticed to the watchmaking trade in Dunedin. where he entered into business on his own account. He enlarged the scope of his work with optometry. Mrs. Bremner died some months ago. Mr. Bremner leaves several adult sons and daughters. MRS. E. M. HOLDSWORTH The death of Mrs. Elizabeth Mary Holds worth, widow of the late Mr. J. G. Holds worth, has occurred at Wellington at the age of 86. She was a daughter of the late Mr. Benjamin Smith, coming 1 to New Zealand as a child. Mr. C. W. Smith, of Christchurch. is now the only surviving member of the family, who arrived in the Carnatic in 1854. She is survived by five sons and three daughters, her sons including Sir Charles Holdswortli. managing director of the Union Steamship Company.
