THREE ROOMS GUTTED
FIRE IN SYMONDS STREET Three booms over a pork butchery at 199 Upper Symonds Street, occupied. by Mr. A. Lea, were gutted by fire about 9.30 last eyening. The fire broke out in the upper storey and the brigade, which sent out two engines, had some difficulty in getting it under control. However, after half an hour's hard work the flames were extinguished, the upper rooms being badly damaged but the shop escaping almost unharmed. The building is owned by YVinstone, Limited, and was insured for £615 in the London and Lancashire Office. The contents were insured for £SSO in the same office.
