QUEEN’S BIRTHDAY
A QUIET CELEBRATION AT WINDSOR GRATEFUL TO PEOPLE British Official Wireless RUGBY, Sunday. Queen Mary celebrated her 62nd birthday quietly at Windsor. There was a family gathering for the luncheon, aud in the afternoon a picnic in the grounds, at which the King was present, with the other members of the Royal family. The Queen, replying to the Lord Mayor of London's congratulations, says: “I recall with heartfelt satisfaction the sympathy so warmly extended to myself and my children during the King’s illness. From the valley of the shadow the King has been restored to his people, with a realisation of the nation’s faith and hope. I look back with gratitude to the fervent prayers aud earnest good wishes supporting me. and those dear to me, in the dark days of our anxiety.”
