REMUERA CLUB According to the report of the Remuera Lawn Tennis Club, to be submitted at the annual meeting next Friday, the membership his b*e n maintained at slightly under the ratio of 20 per court, there being 113 men and 124 women. In spite of heavy expenses the past season shows a small surplus of income over expenditure A considerable saving was effected in the cost of balls and general expenses were noticeably less than last season In the inter-club matches the B grade team w as successful, the A team losing to Eden and Epsom in the final after a closely-contested game. in the New Zealand championship E. L. Bartleet won the singles and Miss Macfarlane won the women’s, singles In the Auckland championship events Bartleet and Miss Macfarlane repeated their success, while Mr. N. Sturt, partnered by Mr. Lampe, won the doubles event. Tn the junior national contest. held at Wellington, two members of the club, R. S. Milne and W. Brownlee, reached the finals of the singles and won the doubles.
The balance-sheet shows an excess of assets over liabilities of £226 13s
