In order to obtain data on possible traffic outlets and the construction of a second bridge over the Waikato River, tlie Hamilton Borough Council has instructed its engineer. Mr. R. Worley, to investigate a number of suggested schemes. Included in these are the continuation of Collingwood Street to Ward Street, and the grading of Anglesea Street from Collingwood Street, with the provision of an overhead bridge over Ward Street and the railwaj- lines to Selkirk Street. It was recommended that a valuer should be appointed to revise the estimates of land and building values affected by the Garden Place scheme. Further schemes to be considered were the lowering of the railway lines in order to permit overhead crossings at Seddon Road, Victoria Street and River Road, and the reconstruction of the railway bridge so as to provide an overhead traffic bridge across the river. * * * The Hamilton High School Board of Governors is negotiating with the Waikato Diocesan School Board for the lease or purchase of “Sonning,” the premises in which the Diocesan Girls’ School is at present being conducted, to provide boarding accommodation for girls attending the high school. The Diocesan Board intends removing its school to another site on River Road.
