PAUCITY OF ORDERS
BRITISH WOOL SPINNERS (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Saturday. Owing to the paucity of orders for manufactured goods pending the elections, many wool spinners have temporarily closed down, resulting in weakened prices for Merinos and fine crossbred tops. Secondary causes are the strike of the Calder Valley operatives and rumours of a further spread to Bradford. Although the immediate outlook is unsatisfactory, prices are most likely to improve immediately the political outlook has become more settled.
