SENIOR B CLASHES
MARATHON BEATS VARSITY ..A clever back-line enabled Marathon to score a four-point victory over University B in the senior B grade on Saturday. Varsity more than held its own in the pack. Hudson. Stone and Miller being particularly prominent. The pack gave their backs plenty of leather, but a weak threequarter line failed to take advantage of its opportunities. Babbage, at half, was fast and clean in his work, and Moorhouse, outside him. played a convincing game, notching an excellent try.
Young, rover, led the Marathon pack. Wales, outside the half, and Stewart on the wing, were the stars of the back division. Baton played a sound game at fullback. Captain J. G. Wales was referee.
