GAY GATHERING AT WHITFORD CRICKET CLUB FUNCTION Beautifully decorated with masses of nikau fronds, the Whitford Public Hall made a pretty setting for the many daintily-frocked dancers who attended the Whitford Cricket Club’s annual ball on Friday evening. There was a large attendance of members and friends, and visitors were present from all the surrounding districts. A delightful programme of dance music was provided by the Frolic Orchestra, under the leadership of Mrs. S. Brooke, and extras were played by Mrs T. Mulvihill and Mrs. Taylor. The duties of master oC ceremonies were carried out by Mr. T. Mulvihill. TWO PRESENTATIONS During the evening Mr. Gilbertson presented Mr. Robert tlattaway with a cricket bat, in recognition of his having obtained the best batting average throughout the past season. On behalf of the club members. Mr. Brouskili handed to Mr. and Mrs. Gilfillan a beautiful dinner service, in recognition of the valuable services which they have given the club.
